Lazy Runner offers a safe, fun, effective running program for all fitness levels. Everyone is welcome at Lazy Runner no matter what your running ability.

Do you want to run 50 metres without losing your breath, set a new parkrun PB or run a marathon? Lazy Runner provides the guidance and support you need to reach your running goals.

Lazy Runner incorporates variety, flexibility and sociability into its running formula. And it’s fun.

I am a dedicated and passionate recreational runner and dad. A Level 2 Intermediate Recreational Running Coach and a Community Athletics Coach accredited with Athletics Australia. An Event Director at parkrun Phillip Island. 

I have not always been a runner - like many recreational runners I started running later in life. I run for fun, health (physical and mental) and for social and even family time.  

I regularly enter running events for fun but do enjoy competing (mostly chasing my own PBs).

My next running goal is the Melbourne Marathon 2018

Where do we run?
Lazy Runner meets for training at a variety of beautiful outdoor locations in and around Cowes on Phillip Island.

It's easy to join Lazy Runner - just come along to our next session. You can start a program anytime and your 1st session is always FREE.

Before the session we will discuss your running history, current fitness level and what you hope to achieve. Kris can then get you started and recommend the best plan for you.


Lazy runner programs are made up of three components:

All sessions run from 45 minutes to an hour.


Muck Up Sessions

Improves speed, strength and technique. 

The Muck Up Sesh is suitable for all levels of running ability, including beginners. These sessions are different each week and if you’ve never had running coaching before, come along and check it out. You’ll be amazed by what variety and challenge can do for your running.

The range of training sessions includes: sprinting, hill running, tempo runs, cross training, beach running, agility drills, fartlek training, fun team activities, cross-country running and much more.

This type of training encourages your body to adapt to different styles of running and terrain, and brings more depth and enjoyment to your running. 


Ho Hum Run

Improves endurance and distance.

No matter what level you join Lazy Runner at, you’ll run your longest distance in this group session. Your coach will guide you as distances increase each week according to your personal running goals.

The course will vary from week to week to keep things interesting. This session is a low pressure run that will increase your endurance. Run at a comfortable pace, with an emphasis on running further, not faster.

After around four weeks of the Lazy Runner program, you’ll be able to estimate your pace time to help you set future distance and time goals.

At the end of this session, the group will go through some stretching routines. This is an ideal time for the group to discuss how their run went and to exchange ideas on running. It is also a good time to talk to your coach about your progress.

Lazy Runner Cowes loves local running events and parkrun Phillip Island is our favourite. You’ll find Kris and his family there most Saturday mornings. Make sure you stop in and have a chat.
